THE COUNCIL

The headquarters of the Council is located at Rua do Concello Pedrouzo - Arca. It is a modern building of three floors and mixed housing. The main reason for the appearance of the facade is the powerful line of balcony that appears on the second floor. In it, the volumetric movement predominates, and its combines the various pieces. The main door is situated in one of the sides and it has a portico formed to set back the line of the facade on the ground floor, three metres. The cover over the main balcony that takes after it all the line of cornice contributes to highlight it in a decisive way.

The Department of Social Services and the Justice of Peace is located on the ground floor. Other services are located on the first floor: public attention, accounting, urbanism planning, sports, local development, tourism, Secretary and Mayor. On the top floor is located the Plenary Hall and the municipal computer, in addition to a training classroom.

HISTORY

The record that signed in the mid-19th century, Pascual Madoz, situated the municipal building, without own physical space, in the parishioners of San Vicente do Pino. He later moved to the pilgrim hostel of Santa Irene, and later to a building located in Arca. The latter, is a property located in front of the pilgrim hostel in Arca, today post office building, and built by Luis Santiago Seoane and María López, the well-known and versatile Galician Luis Seoane parents.
